    Surfacing & Planing

    Even thickness, Ready to Build

We take a flattened slab down to consistent thickness across its full length and sand it through the grits so it's ready for finish or joinery. Edges get jointed square if your build needs them, and live edges get cleaned and softened without losing their character.

  • 02

    Kiln Drying

    Green Wood → 6-9% MC

Kiln drying brings green or air-dried stock down to a stable interior moisture content and kills any insects living in the wood. We meter every slab before it leaves.

  • 03

    Slab Flattening & Milling

    Rough Sawn → Dead Flat

Rough-sawn slabs come off the mill with cup, twist, and saw marks. We flatten both faces dead parallel on our slab mill so what you get back sits flat on a table and stays that way.
